Terms of Use & Refunds

Last updated: 19 July 2026

The short version: BillCheck compares electricity plans using the figures on your own bill. The results are indicative — always confirm with the retailer before you switch. We take no commission from any retailer. If you pay for a comparison and it doesn't work, or the result is plainly wrong, tell us and we'll refund you.

Who these terms are with

BillCheck is operated by Mango Private Wealth Pty Ltd (ABN 22 160 640 684), trading as Exactify. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean that company, and "you" means the person using the service. By using BillCheck you agree to these terms.

What the service does

You upload an electricity bill. We extract the energy figures from it — usage, rates, supply charge, solar, tariff type, meter type — and price publicly filed South East Queensland electricity plans against those figures, then rank them by estimated annual cost.

Plan data comes from the Australian Energy Regulator's Consumer Data Right product data. We don't control that data, and retailers can change their prices at any time.

What the service is not

Accuracy, and its limits

We work hard to be accurate and we tell you where we can't be. Figures shown are estimates based on the bill you upload and plan data as we retrieved it. They can be wrong if:

Always confirm the rates directly with the retailer before switching. Do not rely on BillCheck alone to make a switching decision.

Your bill and your data

We don't store your bill image or PDF, and we never store your name, address, or account number. What we keep, and why, is set out in our privacy policy.

You confirm that you're entitled to upload the bill you provide.

Fees

While BillCheck is in beta, use of the service is free. If we charge a fee for a comparison, the price is shown before you pay, and payment is handled by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.

A fee, where charged, is a one-off payment for access to the full comparison for the bill you uploaded. It is not a subscription, and nothing recurring is set up.

Refunds

Our rules are simple. If you've paid and any of the following apply, contact us and we'll refund you in full:

Because a comparison is delivered immediately and in full, we generally don't refund simply because you didn't like the result — for example, if the comparison correctly shows you're already on a good plan and can't save money. That's still a useful answer, and it's the one you paid for.

Ask through our contact form. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, and usually take a few business days to appear.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law come first. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies the consumer guarantees that apply under the Australian Consumer Law. If a service fails a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a refund or compensation regardless of what this page says.

Acceptable use

We may suspend access where the service is being misused.

Availability

BillCheck is provided on an "as available" basis. It's in beta, it depends on third-party data and services, and we may change, suspend or withdraw it at any time.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for loss arising from your reliance on the comparison — including any decision to switch, or not to switch, retailer. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of doing so.

Again, this doesn't limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we'll update this page and the date above. The terms that apply to a purchase are the ones published at the time you made it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
